We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Repeal Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act

Created on July 20, 2020

For the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict, the United States must maintain its neutrality in the international lawmaking process. For the United States to act as a leading mediator, it must remain impartial. Section 907, through laying blame for the conflict with Azerbaijan, condemns the party whose sovereign territory is being occupied. This is a violation of international law norms and the concept of sovereignty, and contradicts the essential factor of impartiality. In addition, Section 907 contradicts the UN Security Council Resolutions 822, 853, 874, and 884, condemning the occupation of Azerbaijani land, and requesting Armenian military withdrawal.
