We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Please reject the nomination of Andy Tsang Wai-hung for positions in United Nations

Created on August 27, 2019

The PRC has nominated the former Commissioner of Hong Kong Police Andy Tsang Wai-hung as the director-general of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) and the executive director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). These are key, high-ranking positions at the United Nations for combatting narcotics crimes.

WE ASK FOR REJECTION OF THIS NOMINATION WITH THE GROUNDS OF TSANG’S CONDUCT AS COMMISSIONER OF POLICE DURING THE Hong Kong UMBRELLA MOVEMENT IN 2014.

Tsang was responsible for the brutal police crackdown during the movement. There are plenty of evidence proving serious police abuse of power in in dealing with protesters, journalists, and even citizens. Andy Tsang Wai-hung is definitely not the appropriate person to take any position in the United Nations.
